IBB President Ekrem Imamoglu made comments regarding the closure of universities. Imamoglu said, “It’s alarming that the first thing that comes to mind is closing universities, this mistake should be corrected as soon as possible.”
Imamoglu, who stated that he does not accept leaving the young people helpless and hopeless, said it is possible to support students from the earthquake-affected area in other cities. Imamoglu said, “Istanbul is ready for this.”
Regarding the closure of universities and the opening of dormitories for earthquake victims, IBB President Ekrem Imamoglu made the following statements:
“Closing universities and evicting students from dormitories is not acceptable. Our state has the means to provide shelter for earthquake victims, the first thing that comes to mind should not be closing universities, this mistake should be corrected as soon as possible.”

Continuing with his statement regarding supporting students in the earthquake-affected area in other cities, Imamoglu said:
“Instead of leaving the students helpless and hopeless, transferring them to other universities and increasing the capacity of dormitories is possible. Istanbul is ready, as well as other cities.”
