Children’s playgroups in Liberty Park in Eğriçam Neighborhood of Yenişehir district were set on fire at night, and firefighters responded to the fire upon the notice of the citizens living in the vicinity. While the playgrounds in the park became unusable after the fire, the police teams started an investigation into the incident.

Making a statement from his social media accounts, Mersin Yenişehir Mayor Abdullah Özyiğit said, “Don’t worry guys, we will place our new playground group in our park as soon as possible. Unfortunately, our playgroup, where our children enjoyed themselves and had a good time with their friends, was burned in the Liberty Park by a ignorant person or persons. An investigation has been launched into the incident, I hope those responsible receive the punishment they deserve. It is our responsibility to protect our city and our living space.” He used his expressions.
