The people of Buca showed great interest in the Unity and Togetherness iftar dinner, which was set up on the Buca prison site that was demolished and removed and on the way to the new Buca prison. Sports Minister and Izmir deputy candidate Mehmet Kasapoğlu, Izmir deputy candidates Mahmut Atilla Kaya, Savcı Sayan, Turkey’s youngest deputy candidate Nisa Alptekin, AK Party Buca district chairman Hakan Kalfaoğlu, district executives, and Buca citizens attended the iftar dinner, where 5,000 people broke their fast.
Kasapoğlu, who is a candidate for AK Party İzmir 1st region deputy, wished for a peaceful Ramadan and for it to be a means of salvation for humanity in his speech at the iftar program. Reminding that Turkey is in an election process, Kasapoğlu said, “We will make a new beginning in the 100th year of our Republic. I believe that on May 14, from Buca, Izmir, and all parts of Turkey, we will show the outcry of brotherhood, unity, togetherness, democracy, and national will. And I believe that May 14 will be a new holiday, a democracy holiday, a celebration after this Ramadan Feast, and hopefully we will reach this holiday together.”
