As part of the Traditional Ramadan Events organized by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality in Karaalioğlu Park, Sunay Akın met with the people of Antalya with his program called “Mahya Lights”.

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality brings the cultural richness of Ramadan to the people of Antalya with the Traditional Ramadan Events held in Karaalioğlu Park during the month of Ramadan. Sunay Akın, a contemporary storyteller known for both his writing and poetry, was the guest of the Ramadan Events, which present a different activity every evening to the citizens. Akın entertained the audience with a pleasant conversation about Ramadan in his show “Mahya Lights”.

Sunay Akın, who shared not only Ramadan stories but also historically significant events with the audience in his unique style, emphasized the importance of reading during Ramadan. Akın said: “Can we escape the shadows of ignorance by elevating the light of knowledge through reading, or do some people want to push us deeper into the darkness of the shadows? In our culture, the month of Ramadan is the combination of science and art. In the 1860s in Istanbul, a scientist organized a conversation to enlighten people in the light of science every Ramadan. This is our tradition of Ramadan conversations.”

At the end of the program, Okan Yavuz, the Head of the Department of Culture and Social Affairs, and İsmail Oskay, the Head of the Department of Promotion of City History, presented Sunay Akın with flowers on behalf of the Metropolitan Municipality.
