Osmangazi Municipality signed a service protocol with the Bursa Branch of the Turkish Psychologists Association for the social and psychological support to be given to the citizens who experienced the disaster of the century. In addition, psychosocial support will be provided to the earthquake victims who were hosted in Bursa at the Family Guidance Center newly built by Osmangazi Municipality in Alemdar District.

Dundar: “We will get through this trauma together”
Noting that Osmangazi Municipality has embraced the earthquake victims who came to Bursa as well as the works in the earthquake zone, Dündar said, “As Osmangazi Municipality, we are working to be a cure for the problems of our citizens in these difficult days and to stand by our citizens in every sense. In particular, we are doing our best to heal the wounds of the earthquake as soon as possible. In this sense, we are building the ‘Osmangazi Neighborhood’ of 100 houses in Gaziantep İslahiye. In the soup kitchens established in İslahiye and Antakya due to the month of Ramadan, we offer hot iftar and sahur meals to 4,000 people daily. In addition to our services in the earthquake area, we stand by our earthquake victims in Bursa. Our expert team provides psychosocial support to our citizens who have experienced the disaster of the century. We will get through this trauma together.” said.
Explaining that they added a new one to the Family Counseling Center that previously served in Emek, Mayor Dündar said, “Our new center, which we have brought to life in Alemdar, consists of 3 meeting rooms. Here, our family counselors and psychologists will do important work to keep the family institution, which is the cornerstone of our society, alive and to raise generations that look to the future with confidence. In addition, within the scope of the protocol we signed with the Bursa Branch of the Turkish Psychological Association, our earthquake victims will receive psychosocial support in this center. I wish the new center good luck,” he said.
Turkish Psychologists Association Bursa Branch President Ali Demirel stated that the signed protocol is very valuable and said, “We have decided to carry out psychosocial support activities for our citizens again in the Kahramanmaraş earthquake, as in the Gölcük earthquake, the İzmir earthquake, and the Soma disaster. In this context, we took action with our Osmangazi Municipality. Our project, which we will serve with our volunteer psychologists, is completely for the benefit of the public. We would like to thank Osmangazi Municipality for the opportunities it has given us.”
