The mystery of creation and birth was represented by Nagehan Elibol’s work “Turn In/Red,” showcased at the Art Nova Art Fair through the Initiativeless Altı Üstü Art Platform. Elibol’s bold expression and the narrative of her inward journey through ceramics captivated the audience. Associating introspection with the unknown, the artist particularly favors the color red, making it a symbol of the mysterious. The form of the piece allows for multiple interpretations, establishing a connection between the viewer and the subconscious, resulting in a unique structure.
Elibol’s work symbolizes a dry landscape for some viewers, while for others, it represents birth and creative power. The artist emphasizes the relationship between the female genitalia and the ideas of birth and creation, positioning herself at a point open to interpretation. Red emerges as an image of this creative power; it is associated not only with birth but also with productivity, rebellion, and libertarianism. @nageseramik provides viewers with different experiences by giving form and dimension to creative uncertainty.
Initiativeless Group: Collective Sharing in Art
Initiativeless stands out as an artist community that enriches Ankara’s artistic atmosphere, focusing on creativity and collective sharing. The group comprises artists producing works in painting, photography, design, and ceramics. Initiativeless aims to create organic interactions between artists and viewers by seeking the order of chaos in nature and reflections of the future in the present. They define art as a process enriched by multiple experiences, going beyond individual production.
One of the founders, Süleyman Dodi Dündar, also serves as the president of the Union of Painters and Sculptors (BRHD). Dündar emphasizes Initiativeless’s goal of contributing to the art world, highlighting the community’s significant place in Ankara’s art scene.

This vision of Initiativeless was concretely presented at the ARTNOUVA fair, held for the first time this year. Twelve artists gathered under the Initiativeless Art Platform showcased their works across a broad spectrum, from painting and ceramics to photography, engineering, and design. Notable artist Sibel Ünalan emphasized the importance of artist-viewer interaction, stating, “Achieving multiple experiences and integrated sharing is very important to us. We were very pleased with the interest shown in Initiativeless.”

The fair not only presented artistic works but also showcased unique objects, such as Talat Ayhan’s handcrafted guitar designs, attracting significant interest. The harmony and diversity among various disciplines fully reflected the artistic understanding of Initiativeless.
