The “BU” exhibition, which presents a selection of the works produced by Harun Antakyalı during his professional art career, which has completed its 30th year, with the metropolis, the people shaped by its complex structure, and the main material concrete in his works, will be held on March 21 – April 9, 2023 with the Cue Art Space organization. Yapı Kredi meets the art audience at bomontiada.
Harun Antakyalı, who creates his visual and intellectual universe from the metropolis, the source of modern and post-modern life, the rising buildings, walls, streets, concrete that 20th and 21st century people are always in contact with, and the reflections of all these on human; He expressed this approach in different forms by including elements such as figure, material, surface, texture and dimension in his art practice.
This is the reason why he carried the street to the gallery space with an expressionist attitude. At the same time, with this attitude, the artist makes his identity permeable enough to penetrate the whole city, adopting the freedom of street art through concrete material; All metropolitan structures, schools, buildings, hospitals, bridges and walls turn into areas where Antakyalı’s figures can wander. For this reason, after seeing the artist’s work closely, you may encounter figures on every surface at an irrational or unconscious point.
The “BU” exhibition, which aims to show from a time-spanning perspective how Harun Antakyalı deals with modern man’s approach based on the idea of man as a part of the street, as well as the complex, complex and even intricate existence of the metropolis, was held between 21 March and 9 April. You can visit the Kredi bomontiada Gallery free of charge between 10:30 and 20:00 every day.
A portion of the income to be obtained from the sale of the works to be exhibited will be for the benefit of TOÇEV, the Children’s Education Foundation who is willing to study at Tüvana; A part of the income to be obtained from the sale of the products prepared within the scope of the exhibition and bearing the artist’s designs will be donated to the benefit of non-governmental organizations HEPADER, ÇAKBİPATİ and PAWGUARD working for stray animals.
