Members of the GTD Press Council, who came together to explore this unique city known for its natural beauty and local flavors in Yalova, gathered at a delightful event. This wonderful trip, which started with local products at Coffe Chef at 09:00 in the morning, provided an opportunity to get to know the riches of Yalova up close.
The tour continued at the Medicinal Aromatic Plants Garden, a special area dedicated to the cultivation and preservation of various medicinal herbs. Yalova Governor Dr. Hülya Kaya and Altınova Mayor Mr. Metin Oral provided insights into the importance of this garden and emphasized the value of nature.
During the event, Dr. Hülya Kaya highlighted Yalova’s products with geographical indications and stressed the need to promote them further in the Turkish market. Mr. Metin Oral pointed out that investments in Yalova would accelerate in the coming years due to increasing demand.
The journey progressed to the Yürüyen Köşk, thermal springs, and Limak Thermal Hotel, where a sumptuous lunch featuring local products awaited the participants. Following this, the Sanayi ve Ticaret Odası (Chamber of Commerce and Industry) organized a symposium as part of the Yalova Gastronomy Day.
Key industry figures, including Gürkan Boztepe, Plantur Chairman Hüseyin Kurtoğulları, and others, discussed the future and potential of gastronomy tourism, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and partnerships.
Gürkan Boztepe, Chairman of the Gastronomy Tourism Association (GTD), expressed their aim to breathe new life into the sector through this year’s inaugural symposium, fostering collaboration and dismantling boundaries. They believe that Turkey’s gastronomy tourism sector will play an even more significant role in the global economy in the years to come.
This event serves as an opportunity to introduce Yalova’s natural and cultural riches to a broader audience, contributing to the growth of the tourism and gastronomy sectors.
