Stating that her passion for music began at a very young age, Bahar Taşkıran particularly emphasized the effect melodies have on her. Saying that she felt the place of music in her life when she was only six years old, the artist described her emotional connection with music by saying, “Sometimes even songs whose lyrics I don’t connect with at all can take me somewhere else. Melody is very decisive for me.”

Taşkıran recalled her first stage experience, which took place during her university years on a New Year’s Eve, and said she still remembers that moment with great excitement. Noting that she prepared for that performance for a full 22 days, the artist said, “I was very excited, but when I stepped onto the stage, I surprised even myself. It didn’t feel like my first stage at all; I was very comfortable,” expressing the strong bond she has with the stage. She added that a company dinner performance before New Year’s Eve also helped reduce her excitement and gave her experience.

A graduate of Uludağ University’s Fashion Design department, Bahar Taşkıran candidly shared that she did not actually choose this field willingly. However, she stated that her fashion education made a major contribution to her stage life and said that she mostly prefers to wear costumes she designs herself on stage. “I don’t like using dresses I see in shop windows on stage. Producing the costume I imagine makes me happier,” said the artist, also drawing attention to the fact that the effort spent behind the scenes often goes unseen.

Stating that she has been on stage for approximately 21 years, Taşkıran said that performing in different cities is still a major source of motivation for her. Although she lives in Bursa, she noted that most of her professional life takes place outside the city, sharing that she performs in Balıkesir, İzmir, Çanakkale, Edremit, and occasionally Cyprus. Expressing that Bursa’s entertainment culture does not appeal to her very much, Taşkıran nevertheless emphasized that the city helped her discover a different color of her voice.

Touching on the challenges faced in the industry as a female musician, Bahar Taşkıran stated that compared to the past, they now have to be more cautious. “There are places we want to go, but now we have to think much more about the pros and cons,” she said, adding that despite all the difficulties, her love for her profession keeps her standing.

Speaking about her own compositions during the program, Taşkıran explained that she has many songs written specifically for her and her voice by her brother. Stating that these songs are on a very different line from the repertoire she performs on stage, the artist described the process by saying, “These pieces helped me discover another color of my voice. Like a second spring.” She also added that she plans to release her songs as singles rather than an album, spreading them over time.

Making sincere statements about her stage image, Bahar Taşkıran said that she does not have concerns about creating an “artist image” for herself. She noted that although she likes dressing up and being elegant, she sometimes gets tired of it, and that she can be completely natural in daily life as well. Smiling, she shared that she usually does her own hair and makeup, and that there have even been times when she prepared and went on stage in just 17 minutes.

Sharing that she has recently started playing the piano, Taşkıran said that her biggest dream is to one day perform her own songs while accompanying herself on the piano. “If I can achieve this one day, I will immediately share it with everyone,” said the artist, underlining that her excitement for producing and learning continues.
