The 23rd of April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, which was gifted to children by the Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, was celebrated with various programs at the Uğur Böcekleri kindergarten, established by Gemlik Mayor Mehmet Uğur Sertaslan for the benefit of working mothers, which provides education to dozens of young children.

The little ones sang the song “Atatürk’s Children” all together and joined the festive spirit with the poems they read.

Gemlik Mayor Mehmet Uğur Sertaslan, his wife Gamze Sertaslan and Deputy Mayor Mert Dimili closely watched the children’s performances. Mayor Sertaslan congratulated the children and emphasized the importance of the 23rd of April National Sovereignty and Children’s Day in his speech. Mayor Sertaslan also stated that they strive to raise children with the light of reason and knowledge and congratulated all children on their special day.

After the performances, the children were treated to cotton candy and cake by Gemlik Mayor Mehmet Uğur Sertaslan.
