Jennifer Saint’s first novel, Ariadne, published by Epsilon, retells the story of Theseus, Ariadne, and the Minotaur from Ancient Greek mythology, giving voice to forgotten women. Ariadne is an extraordinary and captivating novel that approaches Ancient Greek myths from a woman’s perspective and highlights the power of women in the face of angry gods.

Ariadne is the daughter of King Minos of Crete, and she swears to write her own destiny. The sound of her brother, the Minotaur’s hooves echo from the Labyrinth, and every year, 14 youths from Athens are sent to Crete as tribute to feed the Minotaur’s hunger. When Prince Theseus arrives on the island to kill the monster, Ariadne sees an opportunity in his green eyes. Ariadne risks everything for love and helps Theseus kill the Minotaur, and her story begins.

Jennifer Saint has had a lifelong interest in Ancient Greek mythology and completed the Classics department at King’s College. With her first novel, Ariadne, she aims to give a voice to forgotten women and is currently working on another novel based on an ancient myth.
