Mehmet Turkoz; “The Battle of Çanakkale is the battle of absence with wealth, wood with iron, and faith with passion. Çanakkale is the place where many generations willingly sacrificed their lives for the values they consider sacred. Hundreds of thousands of Mehmets, who were wounded in the Battle of Çanakkale in the spring of 1915, groaned in pain and were filled with screams during the surgeries performed without anesthesia. Çanakkale is the place where the magnificent sons of Anatolia were bitten with felt wrapped in sticks so that they could endure the pain. There are four teeth on a piece of felt that came out of the mouth of a Mehmetçi who was martyred during an operation. Çanakkale is a victory won with tooth and nail. Çanakkale is the place where patience, faith and victory are shown to the world with its great commander, great statesman Mustafa Kemal, all its soldiers, and all the elements that make a nation a nation. I commemorate the martyrs of Çanakkale and all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the indivisible integrity of the homeland and the peace and security of the Turkish Nation with mercy, gratitude and gratitude.
