“When are a person’s ribs broken? Is it the real murder to silence their voice? When does a person remain silent the most?
Yasemin Seven Erangin, after her two previous story collections, presents her novel “Oğuz,” an unusual story of a murder. The book, published under the Ayrıkotu Kitap label, awaits the approval of literature enthusiasts.
One’s voice is their signature… The story of searching for that voice… Oğuz, who walks alongside his childhood traumas, completely unaware of the magic of being a woman, the fun-loving, spiritually rich mother Tüliş, and the woman Asiye, whom Oğuz realizes much later is at the center of his world, all take turns in the book.
What they witness on their journey, what leaves a mark on their souls and lives, their experiences, and what remains unfinished…
A tangle of contradictions woven with accounting and conscience…
To be mistaken, to face defeat, to pass through fires but not to give up on the journey…
Can you silence a burning heart now? Or not silence it… Because the world was created with a scream and with madness, it was created by God…
It’s time to build a new world after wounds, fires, and occupations…
Erangin’s fictional world, fed from Turkey but not detached from reality, makes us question…
