Making an evaluation on the 108th anniversary of the 18 March Çanakkale Victory, Baycan Elektrik General Manager Engin Yılmaz stated that while our country was foreign-dependent in the defense industry in the pre-1980 period, it has now succeeded in signing high-tech projects with 80% domestic production.

Saying, “We have earned the right to be an approved supplier of the Defense Industry by the Ministry of National Defense in 2022 as a result of meeting the expected quality criteria in this field,” Yılmaz said, “As Baycan Elektrik, we are now in Turkey’s defense and we are proud of it. Within the scope of our current projects, we started the production of cable assemblies of land and air vehicles (missile, rocket, armored vehicle). Our experienced and expert engineer team is working on the official orders of these cable groups and developing samples of new projects on the one hand.

WE ARE WORKING WITH TURKEY’S TOP 5 DEFENSE INDUSTRY LEADING COMPANIES

Engin Yılmaz, the General Manager of Baycan Elektrik, informed that they are working with the top 5 defense industry leading companies in Turkey as an approved supplier of the Ministry of National Defense:

“As of 2021, we, as Baycan Elektrik, decided that we want to prove and promote ourselves in sectors other than white goods.

There is a Certified IPC Trainer in our company who has completed all the necessary training, and so far 50 of our personnel have provided Certified IPC Specialist training. Later, we completed our work for the AS 9100 certificate and took our place in the sector as an approved supplier of the defense industry.

Among our targets in 2023 is to start mass production with the leading defense industry companies, which are in the top 5 in the Turkish market. At the same time, we plan to increase our existing 500 square meter closed production area to 3,000 square meters after the second six months. We will develop our machinery infrastructure in line with customer demands and market growth. In the last quarter of the year, we have targets to work with exports.”

WE ARE PLANNING OUR PROCESS TO HAVE A SHARE OF 30% IN THE TURKISH MARKET

Stating that they allocate 250 thousand man/hours to the projects they carry out for the defense industry this year, Yılmaz carefully underlined that they are targeting 1 million man/hours by increasing this figure four times in 5 years and added: We plan to have During this period, we will expand to the foreign market and meet 40% of our total income from exports.”
