Osmangazi Mayor Mustafa Dündar exchanged ideas with Bursa Historical Bazaar and Inns Union President İsa Altıkardeş and the members of the board of directors on the development of the Historical Bazaar and Inns Area and the strengthening of the tradesmen.

Bursa Historical Bazaar and Khans Union President İsa Altıkardeş and members of the board of directors visited Osmangazi Mayor Mustafa Dündar. Expressing his satisfaction for the visit of his guests in his office, Mayor Dündar reminded that as Osmangazi Municipality, they have made many services and investments in the Historical Bazaar and Inns Region, which is the heart of Bursa’s economy. Expressing that they will continue to work to increase both commercial and touristic activity in the Historic Bazaar and Inns Area, President Dündar consulted with İsa Altıkardeş and the members of the board of directors about the needs.

Emphasizing that as Osmangazi Municipality, they work in every corner of the bazaar and inns, Mayor Dündar said, “Preserving the historical texture has become a routine service for us, like cleaning works. We are the pioneer municipality in this field. Now, municipalities all over Turkey are doing their best for this kind of work. Within the scope of the works we have carried out in the historical bazaar and inns region, Ulucami Street has been renewed in a way to form integrity with the bazaar. In the area between İpek Han and Bedesten, the top cover was renewed and made aesthetic and transparent. The granite and cut stone application on the bazaar floor made the street look comfortable and worthy of Bursa’s historical identity. We renewed the glass roofs of Tuzpazarı, Uzun Çarşı and Okçular bazaars. In line with the demands of our tradesmen, we closed the sides of the roof to prevent wind and rain from entering. We are in constant motion. We attach importance to carrying out works that will add value to the Historical Bazaar and Hanlar District and bring economic activity. We are increasing the resistance of our bazaar tradesmen against shopping centers with the investments and services we make.

Bursa Historical Bazaar and Inns Union President İsa Altıkardeş thanked President Dündar for the investments made in the bazaar area and the support he gave to the tradesmen, and said, “Our president attaches great importance to our bazaar and is always with us. It is also very popular with our tradesmen,” he said.
