CALL FOR APPLICATIONS FROM UCIM TO CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATIONS AND INSTITUTIONS!
While the effects of the Kahramanmaras earthquake, which occurred in our country on February 6, 2023 and affected 11 provinces, continue, many non-governmental organizations in the disaster area continue their efforts to help earthquake victims.
As relief efforts continue in the disaster zones, UCIM Saadet Teacher Child Abuse Prevention Association, on the other hand, made a call for solidarity to non-governmental organizations for the earthquake-affected provinces, victims and children with the participation of famous names such as Burcu Biricik, Başak Dizer Tatlıtuğ, Selma Ergeç, Dilan Çiçek Deniz, Melike Şahin, Expert Clinical Psychologist Gökhan Çınar, Janset Paçal, Feri Baycu Güler, Uraz Kaygılaroğlu, Özge Güler, Serkan Çayoğlu, Aslı Tandoğan, Sibil Çetinkaya, Derev Clara Köseoğlu, Mert Vidinli, Emre Yusufi, Bora Akkaş, Ahu Yağtu, Hatice Şendil, Kerem Bursin, İbrahim Selim, Merve Dizdar, Yıldız Çağrı Atiksoy, Ege Kökenli, Nilperi Şahinkaya, Esra Erol, Pınar Sabancı, Zehra Işık, who participated in a meeting held in the earthquake area.

During the meeting, the President of the Association, Saadet Özkan, said: “Since the first day of the earthquake, we have been in the field with our volunteers. We are a civil society organization that has passed inspections. We have systematically established our teams, sent our volunteers to the area, collected data, and carried out our work since the first days of the earthquake, and we continue to do so. We are in the field because we need to know what we are facing in order to solve a problem. Today, we have come together to make a call, saying that we are ready to serve for the children, and we expect all civil society organizations in the field of children who want to work with us, as well as our government to give us the task.”
The Deputy President of the Association, Yücel Ceylan, also expressed his appreciation for all the aid and support provided by state institutions and organizations, stating that “as civil society, we will put our hands under the stone and work with all our might to overcome these difficult times. We call on all civil society organizations that have been in the field until now to unite and work together for our children.”
UCIM’s volunteer lawyers and experts who have served in the field provided information about the organization’s mission after the earthquake, child-focused disaster management, UCIM’s legal and reporting system, as well as the work done and to be done during this period to the celebrities attending the meeting.
Under the hashtag #CivilSocietyReadyForAction, UCIM made an open call on social media, inviting everyone to repair the destructive impact of the disaster on children, who they described as the society and our future.
