Türkiye Sigorta, which takes its power from its name, continues its comprehensive support activities that it has been conducting since the first day of the century’s disaster. Throughout Ramadan, Türkiye Sigorta partnered with Kızılay to bring people together through iftar dinners and Ramadan events in the disaster zone.
As a leader in the insurance sector, Türkiye Sigorta organized iftar events for 11 days at 11 locations affected by the earthquake in partnership with Kızılay to keep alive the power of solidarity and sharing during Ramadan. The first iftar table was set up in Osmaniye on April 1, followed by Kırıkhan, İskenderun, and Hassa in Hatay; Nurdağı and Islahiye in Gaziantep. After Gaziantep, Turkey Sigorta met with citizens at iftar events in Adıyaman, the center and Pazarcık districts in Kahramanmaraş, and finally in Malatya.
In addition to keeping the spirit of abundance and unity alive during Ramadan iftar events, games were played on basketball and football fields prepared for children during the day, and traditional street flavors such as popcorn, paper halva, cotton candy, and Turkish delight were served along with movie screenings in open-air cinemas after iftar.
Atilla Benli, the General Manager of Türkiye Sigorta, who stated that they will continue to be with the citizens with all their might every day as unity and togetherness increase, said, “We are in the field from the very beginning to do our job in the best way possible to heal the wounds of the earthquake. As Turkey Sigorta, we have paid 95% of the individual damage files we opened due to the earthquake by working diligently. We will pay the remaining individual damage files by the end of May. So far, we have made 1.1 billion TL in damage payments, and we will pay the rest by the end of May. We are with our citizens in the region with all our strength to overcome these challenging days together.”
Benli emphasized the importance of the disaster victims being able to socialize in addition to their needs such as shelter and nutrition and said, “Especially, we need to support our children to overcome this disaster situation and normalize to some extent. With this aim, as Türkiye Sigorta, we organized our traditional Ramadan festivities at 11 points affected by the earthquake during Ramadan, watched movies together, played games, and had conversations. We will continue to work for our children to feel better and safer. We are also pleased to come together with our citizens at our brotherhood table, which we set up for 11 days in partnership with Kızılay during Ramadan, to share our spiritual feelings. We thank everyone who shared the abundance of Ramadan with us.”
