Esra Sadıkoğlu: As Young TÜRSAD, We Will Support the Ministry’s Cultural Tourism Efforts

Turkey has been experiencing a significant rise in cultural tourism due to its rich cultural heritage and breathtaking natural beauty in recent times. Esra Sadıkoğlu, Vice President of Young TÜRSAD, shared the latest developments in this field and their future visions, highlighting that Turkey’s cultural riches are effectively being monitored through the efforts, projects, and goals of the Ministry of Culture and TGA (Turkish Tourism and Promotion Agency). She emphasized that Young TÜRSAD is always ready to contribute.

The historical and cultural events and colorful festivals in our country attract great interest from both domestic and foreign tourists. Especially events like the Millionfest held in Cappadocia in June 2023 and the Cappadocia Music Festival scheduled for August 2023 contribute significantly to the rapid growth of cultural tourism and the sharing of Turkey’s deep values with the world.

Esra Sadıkoğlu stated, “As Young TÜRSAD, we support this growth in the field and aim to contribute to making our country’s future brighter. For instance, events organized in Cappadocia not only attract tourists but also provide a valuable opportunity to showcase Turkey’s cultural diversity on the global stage.”

“Çanakkale – Assos – Kazdağları: The Unique Region Where History and Nature Converge

Esra Sadıkoğlu, Vice President of Young TÜRSAD, highlighted a noticeable increase in cultural tourism this year, emphasizing the significance of the Çanakkale – Assos – Kazdağları region. Sadıkoğlu expressed that the efforts in these regions greatly contribute to promoting our rich cultural heritage. Additionally, she mentioned that there are infrastructure challenges in the region, such as electricity and water shortages due to overcrowding, which need to be swiftly addressed by relevant authorities to ensure that these valuable areas for both local and foreign tourists are properly managed.

Sadıkoğlu noted that various projects are being implemented to better utilize the tourism potential of the region and manage it sustainably. She said, “For example, the Troy Culture Road project will not only enhance tourists’ experiences but also contribute to the economic and social development of the region. As Young TÜRSAD, we aim to support these initiatives and contribute to the effective promotion of our country’s cultural riches.”

According to data shared by the Ministry, taking rapid actions sheds light on the industry’s future. Furthermore, the rise in cultural tourism, especially in hotel occupancy rates and favorable pricing policies, contributes to making Turkey an appealing tourist destination.

Sadıkoğlu expressed that they will continue to support the Ministry’s efforts to advance cultural tourism, stating, “As Young TÜRSAD, we will remain dedicated to working decisively to further develop the tourism sector by effectively promoting our country’s cultural riches.”

With this increase in cultural tourism, Young TÜRSAD, which continues to take significant steps towards sharing Turkey’s cultural and natural treasures with the world, expressed their intention to assume a leading role in this field in the future.
