Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, 21 -26 March World Forestry Day and Forest Week due to the participation of students organized a planting event. In order to commemorate 11 provinces living in the earthquake disaster, tiny hands brought saplings together with soil.

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality organized a planting event in Zeytin Park in order to instill the love of nature and environment for students due to the Forest Week.

Saplings met with the soil

In Zeytin Park, the event was held together with Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Forestry Association and Turkey Environmental Education Foundation. Later, students learned the importance of planting trees and protecting trees by planting 81 olives, laurels and carobic seedlings. Students who planted seedlings with their own hands brought the first life juice to the saplings by bringing the seedlings together with the seedlings.

Metropolitan planted 1 million trees

Within the scope of the event, saplings were held on February 6 in memory of 11 provinces living in Kahramanmaraş -based earthquake disasters. In the event, the names of the cities in the earthquake zone were hung. Due to the Forestry Week, we met with our student brothers in Zeytin Park, which is the lungs of the city. Together we planted saplings representing 81 provinces, but we gave the priority to the cities where we lived the earthquake disaster and remembered them. The trees we planted here will flourish with hopes. As the aim of Antalya, the environment and nature friendly of our President Muhittin Böcek, we focus on greening and afforestation works. In this context, we have planted over 1 million trees since the day we took office. This 1 million trees in our city of approximately 4 thousand cars released into the atmosphere of carbon dioxide equivalent to cleaning the carbon dioxide and oxygen as a source of oxygen breathes. Each tree we planted makes significant contributions to our zero carbon goal in our struggle with climate change. ”
