The play, written by Tolga Kılık, received rehearsal support from the Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Istanbul State Conservatory, Department of Theater. Famous names such as Hakan Bilgin, İsmail Demirci, Melis Babadağ, Ogün Kaptanoğlu, and Simge Selçuk performed alongside the special children in the play.
Ebru Soyuerden, who directed the play, said in a brief interview with Eylül Aşkın from Türkiye Haber Portalı after the performance, “I am very happy because we have removed the barriers in people’s minds and changed their perspectives towards these children.”
Starting with a Kindergarten, They Will Build a Campus!
Gökhan Aracı, founding member and general secretary of the İlelebet Beşiktaşlılar Association, stated that with the donations collected during the months of effort they have put into this project, they will build a kindergarten for children with special needs and are waiting for news from the Istanbul Governorate to start the construction.
Vedat Aşkın, a Founding Board Member of the İlelebet Beşiktaşlılar Association, said, “After kindergarten, our children will also need an elementary school, a middle school, and a high school.” He expressed that their project is not limited to building a kindergarten; their goal is to build an “İlelebet Beşiktaşlılar Association Süleyman Seba Special Needs Children Education Campus” that includes primary and secondary education along with preschool.
