The 11th Exhibition of the Culture and Art Society “In the Footsteps of Colors” Opens at Avanos Güray Museum!
With a grand opening ceremony held at the Güray Museum in Avanos on November 10, 2025, the Culture and Art Society “In the Footsteps of Colors” brought together its 11th exhibition with art lovers. The group exhibition with the theme “The Place Touched by the Sun” is presented to the audience with 50 works from 34 artists across different disciplines. The event, curated by Pınar Ülker, not only brings art together with its surroundings but also draws attention with its respect for the region’s cultural fabric.
Notably, the exhibition opened on the significant date of November 10th. Curator Pınar Ülker, stating, “We are commemorating not just a leader, but a thought that never lost faith in humanity,” conveyed the profound meaning of this exhibition with her words: “Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was a representative of an enlightened mind that approached science, art, women, children, and nature with the same love. Therefore, instead of mourning while remembering him, we have chosen to spend this day with our culture and art activities, just as he would have wanted.”
This exhibition not only showcases contemporary art production but also converges with the unique atmosphere of the hosting Güray Museum. The museum, with its underground structure carved into rock at a depth of approximately 20 meters and built over an area of 1,600 m², presents the Anatolian pottery-ceramic tradition chronologically from ancient times to the present day. This architectural and historical foundation further strengthens the exhibition’s metaphor of “The Place Touched by the Sun”: underground, through artworks meeting earth and light, the audience can trace the footsteps of both the past and the present.
The exhibition can be visited until Sunday evening, November 16. The museum, opening its doors daily between 09:00-18:30, promises visitors both an aesthetic and a cultural experience.
