Turkey’s largest children’s and youth musical DOLAP, staged by Çocuk Genç Sanat Tiyatro, founded as a social initiative of Biraderler Yapım to support the development of children and young people through theater-centered art programs, continues to reach more adults, young people and children.
Having brought hundreds of children and young people together with theater, dance and music activities since its establishment and established as a social initiative to support the development of children and young people with theater-centered art programs, Çocuk Genç Sanat Tiyatro’s last play, the youth musical “DOLAP”, which was staged with a huge production of 30 people in two acts, brought the healing and inclusive power of art to young people in the earthquake zone with the support of Nurus in September. After Gaziantep, Adana and Iskenderun, Dolap took the stage in Izmir for young people and families. On April 17th, Dolap will appear at Bilkent AST Stage, which was gifted to Ankaraites by Tepe Real Estate Investment, with the support of Nurus.
Turkey’s first and only youth musical Dolap draws attention as a play that asks existential questions, challenges the determination of what they will be by exams, tries to find their identities and contributes to the youth’s search for meaning. In this respect, the play aims to entertain and entertain not only children and young people but also their parents, while raising questions about identity, personal development, adolescence and individual potential. DOLAP, which aims to broaden the perspectives of young people, reconcile them with themselves and show them that they have opportunities to express themselves, will be a source of inspiration and strength for their peers with the performance of 25 children and young people between the ages of 8-18. With the support of Han Spaces as the rehearsal venue, the play will feature Nurus’ Matilda, a colorful and fun chair that is unlike any other available chair.

The children, whom the system prepares for an exam based on the most prominent characteristics of individuals in order to determine their future and place them in the right place for the common good of the community, are trapped while they work to find themselves. Yet the human spirit, the human talents are rich, life is too vibrant and powerful to be restricted or flattened. Especially love. One day one of the young people takes courage from love and openly breaks the rules. And everyone starts to reveal the contents of their own closet. Life comes alive. The straight opens up to various voluntary intersections, as it should be.
