Young talent İlyun Bürkev continues to make a name for herself with her achievements both in Turkey and abroad. Bürkev is preparing for a magnificent concert on the evening of Wednesday, October 30th, at the AKM Türk Telekom Opera Hall, accompanied by the Pera Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of conductor İbrahim Yazıcı. On this special night, Bürkev will perform Saint-Saëns’ Piano Concerto No. 2. Additionally, the Pera Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Yazıcı, will perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s Prometheus Overture and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Symphony No. 41 Jupiter.
Having performed at the opening concert of the 52nd Istanbul Music Festival earlier this year and at the opening concert of the 14th Phaselis Festival just weeks ago, İlyun Bürkev shared her thoughts on the upcoming concert at AKM: “It is an honor to be at the Atatürk Cultural Center again in the 101st year of the Republic and to meet art lovers in that wonderful atmosphere. This concert, which we will hold with the spirit of the Republic, will be unforgettable for me.”
İlyun Bürkev, one of Turkey’s most talented pianists and referred to as “my heir” by state artist Gülsin Onay, achieved significant success at the Philadelphia Music Festival held in July in Philadelphia, USA. Out of 57 musicians aged 8 to 19, Bürkev won first place in her age group and was awarded the Grand Prize in all categories.
Bürkev has also been invited to perform at the “Young Classic Europe” festival, taking place in Passau, Germany, from October 17 to November 19, 2024. In this prestigious festival, now in its 27th year, which showcases talented young musicians in classical music, Bürkev will present a solo recital on Saturday, October 19. Young Classic Europe is regarded as one of the most prestigious international platforms for young musicians in the Western classical music tradition.
