At the entrance of the Eyüpsultan Silahtarağa Tunnel, contractor teams working on behalf of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) caused damage to the main water supply line of the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI) during maintenance work. The 600mm diameter main pipe that supplies water to Silahtar, Keçesuyu, and Küçükköy was damaged, causing inconvenience to the area. The ISKI teams immediately intervened and opened the discharge valves, and repair work started quickly. The incident affected the neighborhoods of Akşemsettin, Yeşilpınar, Esentepe, Sakarya, Karadolap, Çırçır, and Alibeyköy. Uninterrupted water supply will be provided to the area after the completion of the work. The ISKI legal consultancy also acted quickly to document the damage assessment process. Legal action has been initiated against TEIAS.
