The “Inspiration X Istanbul” event took place at the Skyland HOM Decoration Center with the theme “Now and Future.” On the event’s second and final day, artificial intelligence enthusiasts were captivated.
Artificial Intelligence Played a Role in Reimagining the Traditional Turkish Home
The “Artificial Intelligence and Virtual Reality” panel, moderated by Levent Erden, the Founder of Next Academy, garnered significant interest at the event. In this panel, featuring architect Can Tamirci and Mertcan Özen, the Founder of Hipicon, the versatile use of artificial intelligence in the field of architecture was thoroughly discussed. In particular, the drawing of a traditional Turkish home created in a virtual environment by artificial intelligence drew great curiosity from the attendees. These homes, generated using data and drawings from thousands of years, were meticulously detailed.
Levent Erden, Founder of Next Academy, emphasized the importance of having diverse skills in today’s world, stating that “mastery of multiple disciplines, especially in sectors like design and architecture, is critical for success.” He also added that the education system should adapt to this change.
Architect Can Tamirci expressed that artificial intelligence greatly contributes to creativity and represents a significant milestone. Mertcan Özen pointed out the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence applications in the field of design and exemplified how applications like ChatGPT reached a broad user base in a short period.

On the second day of the event, the panel titled “The Concept of Digitalism and Design” was led by digital artist Hakan Yılmaz, who discussed the digital dimension of art. Interior designers Derya Toros and Erhan Sağır shared insights with participants about the digitalization process of design.
The future trends in architecture were also discussed within the scope of the “Inspiration X Istanbul” event. Interior designers Esra Kazmirci and Burak Pekoğlu provided intriguing perspectives on the architectural trends and innovations of the future.
