Turkey’s most extensive analog music gathering, Kadıköy Record Days, will begin on Saturday, September 16th, in the garden of Kadıköy Municipality. In the event organized for the seventh time this year by Kadıköy Municipality, records will turn in memory of Barış Manço.

The countdown has begun for the 7th Kadıköy Record Days organized by Kadıköy Municipality. The event, which will take place on September 16-17 in the garden of Kadıköy Municipality’s central building in Hasanpapaşa, will once again provide a pleasant meeting for record collectors and enthusiasts. In the event, where vinyl enthusiasts will have access to many old and new records, there will also be concerts, discussions, book signing sessions, and DJ performances. The Kadıköy Record Days, featuring selections from 44 record stores, will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 22:00.

The Record Days, initiated for the first time in Istanbul by Kadıköy Municipality, will be dedicated to the memory of Barış Manço, a prominent figure in Anatolian Rock music who was a singer, composer, and lyricist. The opening of the 7th Kadıköy Record Days will begin with DJ Eren Şenkardeş’s performance on Saturday, September 16th at 13:30 and will continue with performances by Hünkar, Grand Bazaar, Volkan Judocu, and My Analog Journal.

Kadıköy’s children sing for ‘Barış Abi’

Teachers and students from Kadıköy Municipality’s Children’s Art Center will meet with music lovers at 14:00 with the program “Children Sing for Barış Abi.” At 15:00, Guıtarısts Of İstanbul and Okay Temiz will present their new albums for the first time at the 7th Kadıköy Record Days. On the second day of the program, DJ performances will continue, and at 20:00, a “Barış Manço 2023 Memorial Concert” will feature famous figures like Cahit Berkay, Emrah Karaca, and Deniz Tekin.

During the two-day event, the “I Don’t Know How to Explain” Barış Manço Exhibition, prepared by 10 different illustrators, will also be open to music lovers. In addition, there will be a discussion titled “From Barış Manço’s 2023 to 2023: Time Travel” at the event. The speakers for the discussion, moderated by Artemis Günebakanlı, will be Cahit Berkay and Kabus Kerim.
