Turkish female ceramic artist Ferda Meltem Uludağ’s exhibition named “100. Yıla Mektuplar” (Letters to the 100th Year), specially prepared for the centennial of our Republic, met art enthusiasts. The opening ceremony held at Pinelo Art Gallery was warmly welcomed by art lovers in Istanbul.

Ferda Meltem Uludağ, one of Turkey’s prominent female ceramic artists, took art enthusiasts on an emotional journey with her exhibition “100. Yıla Mektuplar.” Working with the essence of nature, Uludağ incorporated details from her childhood memories and local elements of the geography where she was born and raised into her ceramic works, earning great admiration from those attending the opening.

The Exhibition Through the Eyes of the Artist

Expressing her feelings about the exhibition, Ferda Meltem Uludağ stated, “I dedicate this exhibition, which I have been working on for a long time, to Contemporary Turkish Women and the 100th Year of our Republic. In my communication with nature, letters I have written containing all the elements of nature, as well as literary elements such as lyrics and poems that I have collected with nature in mind, have been the most important source of inspiration in the production stages of my works. Thus, the envelopes where I preserve what I have collected from the past to the present are a poetic expression of my figurative and form-related ceramic works. I am sure that art lovers will find a clue about their own lives in the details of my works. I invite all art lovers to my exhibition.”

Exhibition Details and Visiting Information

The “100. Yıla Mektuplar” exhibition can be visited at Pinelo Art Gallery until January 21, 2024. Art enthusiasts will have the opportunity to discover Ferda Meltem Uludağ’s works at the gallery located at Alyanak Apartment, D:16/4, on Halaskargazi Avenue. The gallery is open for visits from 10:00 to 18:00 on weekdays and from 10:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays. The exhibition will be closed on Sundays, aiming to provide art enthusiasts with a unique experience.
