The cruise ship The World, anchored in İzmir Alsancak Port with 157 passengers and 292 personnel, will depart for Istanbul on the evening of March 22. The second cruise ship of this year, “Costa Fortuna”, will arrive in Izmir on Friday, April 21.
Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer said, “Our goal in the short term is to reach the rate of tourists as much as the population of Izmir. After the cruises that came to the city for the first time last year after a break of 6 years, 22 cruise ships made reservations this year. We are carrying out many studies to revive tourism. We are capable of much more. We will reach our goal step by step.” he said.

In 2023, along with The World, Costa Fortuna, Seven Seas Splendor, Norwegian Jade, Marina, Europa, Seabourn Encore, Vista, Seven Seas Mariner, Sirena, Symphony, Nautica, Seven Seas Voyager, Seven Seas Navigator, Riviera, Norwegian Dawn , Costa Deliziosa and Celestyal Crystal will also dock in Izmir.
