“Being “Offline” is the great despair of the painful people of the Modern Age. It is the name of unhappiness on a screen that is cut off from its artificial life, trapped in old posts, a symbol of relentless uploading. Nothing is uploaded; neither the lives of others, nor the approved likes of our fake happiness. Sometimes being “Offline” becomes a choice rather than an obligation. Likes that need the approval and attention of others, feeble and unattractive notifications, and more importantly, communication is prevented. The contradiction of the loneliness of modern man, where everyone is easily accessible, is updated.

How can the artist be Online in a modern age that has nothing aesthetic about it? In the digitized universe of life, canvas and paints retain their historical primitiveness. No canvas surface can be as bright as a state-of-the-art screen. But there is no doubt that they will continue to exist after the digital world as they did before it. On the other hand, to be online is to become a potential viewer. The mind, constantly exposed to images, has no patience or time to interpret and reflect on what it sees. In a rapid flow, the screen promises better and better. This results in an endless cycle. In “Offline Times”, New Generation Artists create their own realities on their canvases. Sometimes with colors, sometimes with unusual forms, they convey the reflections of the age they live in. They aim for man to be not only a spectator, but also a thinker and interpreter.”

In this context, New Generation Art Space aims to create a notification in the minds of the viewers in the group exhibition “Offline Times” organized under the roof of Evrim Art Gallery. Moreover, it guarantees that none of the works will encounter connection problems and remain offline.
