Distinguishing himself from his contemporaries by using compositions, light, and fabric patterns in his paintings, Painter Mustafa Bayar’s 22nd Personal Oil Painting Exhibition will meet art enthusiasts on October 17th at the Tarık Zafer Tunaya Cultural Center Art Gallery.
Highlighting orientalist approaches specific to the East and using fabric visuals in his paintings, which set him apart from his contemporaries, Painter Mustafa Bayar’s 22nd Personal Oil Painting Exhibition will bring together art enthusiasts at the Tarık Zafer Tunaya Cultural Center Art Gallery in Taksim, Istanbul, on October 17th. Art lovers will have the opportunity to closely examine Bayar’s recent works in the collection of 62 paintings specially prepared for this exhibition until October 30th.
Prof. Dr. Erol Kılıç, the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Fatih Sultan Mehmet Foundation University, stated in his art article about Bayar’s recent works that the artist depicts nature with fabrics and creates a conceptual impact in his paintings. Kılıç, mentioning that the ever-changing nature comes to life again in the artist’s paintings with fabrics, also expressed that Bayar established a connection with tradition through the fabrics he used and desired to continue the coding from tradition in his contemporary creations.
About Mustafa Bayar:
Painter Mustafa Bayar, who started his art education in Istanbul in 1971, worked in the workshops of famous Turkish painters Mahmut Cuda and Nurettin Ergüven. Continuing his relationship with academies that provide art education both domestically and abroad, Bayar advanced his passion for art by turning various-colored and patterned fabrics into the main element of his still life paintings.
Since 1990, the artist has transformed the fabric he has turned into a passion into mountains, plains, seas, and multiple fabric compositions, creating a unique style. Bayar, whose works are found in the Naval Museum, official, and private collections, has held 21 solo exhibitions and participated in many group exhibitions to date.
