In collaboration with Yeditepe University Cinema Club and Ay Yapım, the third edition of the Luma Short Film Festival was held this year to support students in realizing their dream short film projects and to encourage young talents. The awards ceremony took place on Friday evening, October 20, 2023, at the Yeditepe University İnan Kıraç Hall, where over 300 students applied for the festival, which featured Short Film Competition, Short Film Screenplay Competition, and Long Feature Screenplay Competition.
Prior to the awards ceremony, students had the opportunity to engage in insightful discussions with actors Kerem Bürsin, Damla Sönmez, producer Armağan Lale, and screenwriter Ece Yörenç.
During the talk, a surprise birthday cake was presented to Ece Yörenç, whose birthday fell on October 20.
Advisory Board
The 3rd Luma Short Film Festival was organized with the contributions of a distinguished advisory board consisting of well-known producers, directors, and actors. The advisory board, which included Ercan Kesal, Yamaç Okur, Ceylan Özgün Özçelik, Damla Sönmez, Michael Önder, Armağan Lale, Mehmet Göksu, Alican Durbaş, Öykü Ersoy, and former Presidents of the Yeditepe University Cinema Club, Umut Ege Özkan, Mehmet Anıl Acar, and Berkay Onur Akkaya, provided support to the students in planning and executing the festival. The festival, held from October 17 to October 20, also featured discussions and workshops where students had the opportunity to interact with numerous prominent figures in the field.
Winners
At the 3rd Luma Short Film Festival, this year’s films were evaluated by juries composed of leading figures from the industry and Yeditepe University academicians.

- Best Short Film Award: “Geriye Sarılmış Kasetler” – Miray Kavak – 30,000 TL
- Honorable Mention: “Together Forever” – Zeynep Sude Karabulut – 20,000 TL
- Special Jury Award: “The Haze” – Atakan Köse & Mert Akbay – 20,000 TL
Short Film Screenplay Competition:
- Best Short Screenplay Award: “Hangi Yarısını Sevmeli İnsan” – Buğra Özverel – 40,000 TL
- Best Short Screenplay Award: “Kul Hakkı” – Hacer Usta – 40,000 TL
- Best Short Screenplay Award: “Rehber” – Mert Erez – 40,000 TL
Long Feature Screenplay Competition:
- Best Long Feature Screenplay Award: “Benim Mutlu Ailem” – Alkım Özmen – 40,000 TL
- Long Feature Honorable Mention: “Hep Aklımda” – Eda Bebek – 20,000 TL
