Küçükçekmece Municipality will purchase the products of Hatay producers, who have difficulties in selling their products after the earthquake disaster, and will deliver them to those in need.

‘The products produced by the farmer will not remain in the field’

Emphasizing the importance of solidarity after the earthquake disaster, Küçükçekmece Mayor Kemal Çebi said, “Our country is an agricultural country and the earthquake region has a share of 14 percent of the total agricultural land in Turkey. I know that this value is at the level of 35 percent in Hatay province. I would like to underline one more data; While the region provides 57 percent of Turkey’s citrus production, Hatay realizes 20 percent of this production alone. From this point of view, it is very important for our country that the farmers in Hatay produce and till their fields. We are going through difficult times and we have to stand by our farmers.

This is our responsibility as citizens. Thanks to the products we buy from our farmers, we will not only keep the products produced by our farmers in the fields, but also support our neighbors in Küçükçekmece in need.”
