About Fişekhane:
Fişekhane is Istanbul’s new cultural, artistic, entertainment, and lifestyle center, with its 170-year-old historical texture serving as the city’s meeting point. The Fişek Factory, also known as Fişekhane, is one of the significant buildings within the “Zeytinburnu Fabrika-i Hümayun,” which was part of the Ottoman Empire’s and its army’s modernization efforts in the first half of the 19th century, an era marked by wars. With its industrial identity and a unique place in the city’s past, this historic structure, which has been off-limits to the public for over a century, has been brought back to life with a world-standard restoration. While preserving its authenticity and sensitively restoring it, Fişekhane has been redesigned to meet today’s needs. Fişekhane, with its historical atmosphere bearing traces of 19th-century architecture, takes visitors on a captivating journey. It offers visitors all areas of art with its 417-seat main stage, 220-seat second stage, 100-seat Black Box alternative stage, a total of 671-seat cinema halls, and the Cocoon art production exhibition space. In the summer, Fişekhane hosts performing arts and concert events with its 2300-seat open-air stage, Deniz Sahne, as well as streets, open spaces, and chef restaurants with unique tastes from world cuisines, making Fişekhane a single roof for culture and art, gastronomy, and the good life.
