Supporting the farmers in order to ensure the continuation of local agricultural production in the disaster area after the earthquake disaster, ŞOK Markets collected and bought the ripe lemons waiting in the gardens in the Arsuz district of Hatay, together with the producers. In the earthquake region, where thousands of farmers and producers are located, ripe agricultural products, which were in danger of being spoiled by waiting in the fields and trees due to the disaster, met with consumers at ŞOK Marketler stores. With this support, an important step was taken towards the recovery of the region by preventing the ripened products from rotting on the branches, and creating income opportunities for the farmers.
Uğur Demirel: “We are working to protect the fertile lands of Anatolia and our local producers”
Stating that they support the region and producers by purchasing the agricultural products waiting in the fields and trees in the earthquake zone, Uğur Demirel, CEO of ŞOK Markets, said: “The disaster area includes very valuable and wide agricultural fields that feed Anatolia with their fertile lands. Protecting this value and ensuring the continuity of agricultural production is of critical importance both for our country and for the region’s economic empowerment. We gathered ripe lemons waiting in the gardens of Hatay Arsuz together with our producers and brought them to our customers in our stores in order to heal the wounds of our local producers in the region, even if a little bit. We will continue to support the producers in order to restore agriculture in the region.”
