Air Conditioning Industry Exporters’ Association (ISIB) organized a Sectoral Trade Delegation organization with the participation of Turkish exporters to Indonesia and Malaysia between 5-10 March.
ISIB Board Members Cem Savcı and Murat Erenoğlu attended the Sectoral Trade Delegation organization, which was held separately for two countries and lasted for 5 days in total.
While 11 companies from Turkey and 66 companies from Indonesia participated in the bilateral meetings held in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, on March 7, a total of 130 business meetings were held. Before the B2B meetings, the Republic of Turkey Indonesian Commercial Counselors Erkan Kiper and Burak Avcı provided information to the participating companies about the country’s commercial status and potential.
On March 9, bilateral business meetings were held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, with the representatives of companies from both countries. 24 companies from Malaysia participated in the meetings, in which 11 participating companies from Turkey participated. Before the B2B meetings, the Republic of Turkey Kuala Lumpur Commercial Counselor Setenay Iyigun gave information about the country to the Turkish exhibitors. In the evening of the same day, Emir Salim Yüksel, Ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Malaysia, hosted the Turkish delegation at the Embassy residence.
ISIB Board Member Murat Erenoğlu stated that the sectoral trade delegation organizations to Indonesia and Malaysia were very productive and said: “Indonesia and Malaysia are two countries that are at the forefront of both our country’s and our industry’s export targets. Both countries have industry imports of nearly 12 billion dollars. Due to geographical proximity, China has a large share in the sector’s imports. We organized this sectoral trade delegation organization in order to shift this weight axis. We observed that our companies participating in our organization made many connections that will turn into exports during these meetings. However, despite the geographical distance of both countries, we see that the relatively low freight costs and the fact that we have a free trade agreement with Malaysia are important advantages for our exporters. We think that with our marketing, communication and training activities, the relations between countries and sectors will rise even higher and we will raise our export targets even more. We will continue to support our companies after the meetings in order to turn the negotiations for our companies into exports.”
