Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay examined the construction of the conference and gymnasium, which started before the earthquake and is still under construction, in the garden of Konya High School, which has been serving for 134 years, and met with students both at Konya High School and Adnan Akgül Special Education Vocational High School.

Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay met with the students by examining the construction of the conference and gymnasium, which started before the earthquake and is still under construction at the historical Konya High School. President Altay also visited Adnan Akgül Special Education Vocational High School and met with students and teachers.

Stating that as Konya Metropolitan Municipality, they continue to meet the needs of the city, Mayor Altay said, “We made inspections at the gym and conference hall construction site that we are building in the garden of Konya High School. Konya High School is a school that has given education to our city for more than 100 years and has trained many people who have served our country. As of now, it is one of the most beautiful schools in our city. Here, we continue the construction of the needed gym and conference hall. Hopefully, at the opening of the 2023-2024 education period, by September, our children will be able to both do sports and have a conference hall that can be used in the school’s educational activities. I wish the best for our city,” he said.

President Altay, who chatted with Konya High School students and teachers, stated that the young people are always in the first place in terms of service and emphasized that they will continue to provide new gyms and facilities for them to have better facilities.

President Altay, who also visited Adnan Akgül Special Education Vocational High School and met with students and teachers, stated that they were happy to meet with young people. Speaking to the youth using sign language, President Altay said, “I wish all our students success in their education life. We will continue to do our best to pave the way for success for them. I would like to thank our school administrators and teachers for hosting us in the best way today.”
