Pera Museum organizes interdisciplinary workshops for adults as part of the Learning Programs, Zamane İstanbuls and Paula Rego: A Story of Stories exhibitions. The program called “The Nature of Creativity” will continue until April 7 at Pera Museum.
Suna and İnan Kıraç Foundation designed workshops for adults within the scope of Pera Museum Learning Programs, Zamane Istanbuls and Paula Rego: A Story of Stories. Art lovers embark on different journeys inspired by the works of master storyteller Paula Rego and the multi-layered structure of the Zamane Istanbuls exhibition.
Based on the works of Paula Rego in which she tells fairy tales, the Embodied Stories Workshop will be held on March 24. Accompanied by movement therapist Derya Dinç, the participants will explore different ways of discovering and expressing their emotions through art. The participants, who use the “Authentic Movement” technique, which enables the person to realize the sources of the movement coming from within, after transferring their movements on a large piece of paper, they interpret the story consisting of lines, symbols and colors together.
Taking its starting point from the Zamane İstanbuls exhibition, Storytelling: The Whisperers of the City workshop, participants construct the story of a city through various creative writing techniques inspired by the photographs selected from the exhibition. The workshop, led by the author and urban history researcher Ekin Can Göksoy, will take place on March 31.
At the Sustainability: Nature Friendly Detergent workshop organized free of charge in cooperation with Pera Learning and DenizTemiz Association (TURMEPA), participants will have the opportunity to develop their ecological awareness and discover practical ways to incorporate sustainability into their daily lives. Inspired by Ali Taptık’s work on the lost water resources of Istanbul, one of its old names, “the city of holy waters”, which is included in the Zamane Istanbuls exhibition, the workshop will take place on April 1st.
The Therapeutic Art: Painting with Awareness workshop, which calls to explore the emotions created by thoughts through art therapy practices, will start on April 7 with a guided tour of the Rego exhibition. In the workshop organized under the direction of Hazal Altun, art lovers who reflect their inner worlds on the canvas with gouache and acrylic paints in order to express their conscious and unconscious feelings and thoughts without the need for words will interpret their feelings and thoughts through the resulting shapes.
