Two more branches of the People’s Grocery/People’s Butcher opened in different parts of the city by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in order to deliver healthy, cheap and reliable food to the public, have opened two more branches in both Bornova Özkanlar and Balçova Onur Mahallesi. Speaking at the opening in Balçova, Mayor Tunç Soyer said, “We think that the municipality must be with our citizens everywhere from the cradle to the grave. It may be a small shop that we opened today, but we will be pleased if you make a small contribution to the family economy.”

People’s Grocery Store/People’s Butcher, opened by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in different parts of the city to deliver healthy, cheap and reliable food to the public, has opened two branches in both Bornova Özkanlar and Balçova Onur Mahallesi today. Thus, 9 branches were reached in İzmir. Processed and carcass meat products prepared in Ödemiş Meat Integrated Plant, which is the lifeblood of small producers in rural areas, of İzTarım A.Ş., a subsidiary of the metropolitan municipality, were offered to the people of Bornova Özkanlar and Balçova Onur neighborhood at affordable prices against increasing inflation. The opening of Balçova People’s Butcher, hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç Soyer, was attended by Balçova Mayor Fatma Çalkaya, İzTarım A.Ş. General Manager Murat Onkardeşler, council members, political party representatives, headmen and citizens attended. President Soyer chatted with the citizens in the region after the opening.

Soyer: “We will be pleased if it makes a small contribution to the family economy”
Mayor Tunç Soyer said, “We think that the municipality has to be with our citizens everywhere from the cradle to the grave. Therefore, it may be a small shop that we opened today, but we will be pleased if you, who live in this region, make a small contribution to the family economy. A shop where you can shop safely and at a reasonable price will be at your service. I wish you all a blessed Ramadan.

Çalkaya: “We would like to thank our Bronze President
Balçova Mayor Fatma Çalkaya thanked Tunç Soyer and said, “It is very valuable for us that such a business has been opened here in this difficult economic condition, especially during Ramadan. In terms of prices, you will be able to meet your meat needs here, far below the market. The most important thing is domestic production,” he said.

Prices are stable during Ramadan
There will be no price increase during Ramadan in the People’s Grocery Store/People’s Butcher branches, which were opened to deliver quality and healthy meat to the people of Izmir. The kilo of ground beef will be sold for 195 liras, and the kilo of beef sausage and beef cubes will be sold for 215 liras.
