Mazhar Alanson and Fuat Güner gave their first concert after Özkan Uğur’s passing on Saturday, March 16th at Bostancı Show Center under the name “Mazhar & Fuat”, just like in their early days.
The duo chose “Güllerin İçinden” as their opening song and at the end of the song they remembered their beloved and prematurely lost friend Özkan Uğur with his photo on the big screen. Fuat Güner opened his opening speech by saying “It’s been a year. One year ago we gave our last concert here. That’s why we wanted to say hello to you here again.” Mazhar Alanson, who was observed to be very sensitive about the subject, said, “We don’t want to get into that subject.” Fuat Güner said, “Özkan is always with us.” The absence of the late Özkan Uğur in the band was especially felt in the song “Mazeretim Var Asabiyim Ben”.

During one of his speeches in the middle of the concert, Mazhar Alanson made an announcement to the youth and the families who raise them, “There aren’t many of us left. We have become classics. In the end, our songs will remain. I hope some of our songs will be listened to for another twenty years.”

Fuat Güner’s performance, which has never gotten old despite the years, filled the eyes. As if to fill the absence of Özkan Uğur, the artist sang the songs at a higher range than we are normally accustomed to throughout the concert and almost wiped the rust off the ears.

The duo Mazhar and Fuat ended their concert with their song “Ele Güne Karşı”. The team came back to the stage for one last song, accompanied by the intense insistence of the participants and the chants of “One more!” and said goodbye to their fans with their song “Sude”.
