The Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality, Uğur İbrahim Altay, along with AK Party Konya Deputy Tahir Akyürek, inaugurated the Indoor Semi-Olympic Swimming Pool brought to Ereğli by the Metropolitan Municipality.

Mayor Altay, who stated that Konya is a city always talked about with its works, said that the semi-olympic swimming pool they opened cost 38 million Turkish Liras at current prices. Inviting the people of Ereğli to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s Konya rally on May 2, Mayor Altay said, “We believe in the foresight of Konya, the foresight of Ereğli, and the love of Ereğli people for our President.”

Speaking at the opening ceremony, MHP Ereğli District Chairman Musa Yılmaz thanked Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, who contributed to the facility’s acquisition by the district.

AK Party Ereğli District Chairman Zübeyir Dursun said, “Our Mayor Uğur, with the services he provided to Ereğli, our 31 districts, and Hatay, has established a throne in not only our hearts but also the hearts of all of Turkey. May Allah be pleased with him.”

Ereğli Mayor Hüseyin Oprukçu said, “We are witnessing another service of our Metropolitan Municipality in Ereğli. May it be auspicious and blessed. We thank our Metropolitan Mayor and staff very much. I believe that our joint effort and solidarity will continue to bring many services to Ereğli.”

Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay, stating that Konya is always talked about with its works, said that the semi-olympic indoor swimming pool they will open cost 38 million Turkish Liras at current prices.

Mayor Altay, who recently initiated the façade improvement project at Ereğli Kent Square, stated, “When it is completed, it will be in harmony with the historical texture of Ereğli. As the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, we have provided very important services to Ereğli. I would like to draw your attention to the fact that as the Konya Metropolitan Municipality, we have invested 877 million Turkish Liras to date.”

“KONYA WILL BE ONE OF TURKEY’S MOST IMPORTANT SPORTS CITIES”

Mayor Altay continued his speech, “There is something written at the entrance of our swimming pool: Sports Konya. We are trying to make Konya a city of sports, not only with facilities but also with the events we organize. Insha’Allah, Konya will be one of Turkey’s most important sports cities. Last year, we hosted guests from 55 countries in Konya with the Islamic Solidarity Games. Now, 2023 is the year that Konya is the World Sports Capital. The children who grow up in these facilities will hopefully be the pride of both Konya and our country. I wish our children and city good luck.”

“WE BELIEVE IN THE INSIGHT OF EREĞLİ PEOPLE”

Inviting the residents of Ereğli to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s rally in Konya on May 2 and referring to the elections on May 14, Mayor Altay said, “On the one hand, we have our President, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who is the hope of not only our country but also the Muslim world and the oppressed. On the other hand, there is a partnership structure whose number of members is unknown even to themselves, who say how much benefit they can get from this situation, but also who do not spare each other when they come out of the table where they are sitting. We believe in the insight of Konya, the insight of Ereğli people, and their love for our President. Hopefully, on the evening of May 14, Ereğli ballot boxes will explode, and they will support our President.”

Tahir Akyürek, AK Party Konya Deputy and 28th-term Parliamentary Candidate, said, “Our semi-Olympic swimming pool is good for our youth and our Ereğli citizens. Thank God, we go everywhere, leaving behind projects as municipality mayors, our government, and our ministers. We come with gifts of projects. This is already our tradition. This is the structure of the People’s Alliance. We do not speak in words but with actions. We do not talk about dreams but reality. Now we are giving this beautiful sports complex as a gift to our Ereğli district. Our cities are becoming more beautiful. Konya is developing. We talk about our projects wherever we go. We are the passengers of the politics of service and projects.”

Burhanettin Sevencan, AK Party Konya Parliamentary Candidate, and MHP Konya Parliamentary Deputy Esin Kara stated that the semi-Olympic indoor swimming pool, which cost 38 million Turkish Liras, was opened with prayers.
