The Foundation for Children with Leukemia (LÖSEV) not only brings the spirit of love, respect, tolerance, and sharing of the holy month of Ramadan into the homes of patients battling leukemia and cancer, but also brings them together at the same table through large iftar gatherings. With these grand iftar meals attended by hundreds of leukemia and cancer patients and their families, LÖSEV aims to boost morale, foster a sense of solidarity, and make them feel that they are not alone during their long and economically challenging treatment process.
Patients from Istanbul’s Asian Side, Kocaeli, and Sakarya Gathered for Iftar
In this context, at LÖSEV’s Traditional Ramadan Iftar Program hosted by Crowne Plaza Istanbul – Oryapark by IHG, children with leukemia and cancer and their families from Istanbul’s Asian Side, Kocaeli, and Sakarya came together with adult cancer patients and young survivors. The Whirling Dervishes performance during the iftar program, organized by LÖSEV Ataşehir Liaison Office, added spiritual tranquility to the evening, while a Hacivat and Karagöz shadow play brought joyful moments to the children. In the coming days, children with leukemia and cancer and their families from Istanbul’s European Side, Tekirdağ, Kırklareli, and Edirne will be hosted at the iftar organized by LÖSEV Levent Liaison Office.

Children Will Heal First with Your Fitrah, Fidya, and Zakat Donations
Acting on the belief that “feeding a poor family, healing a sick child, or making a tearful mother smile during Ramadan is among the most beautiful acts of worship,” LÖSEV, which adorns the tables of thousands of families with abundance every year, continues its support through its Ramadan donation campaign. Throughout the month of Ramadan, donations made as fitrah and fidya are used to send various food supplies, from dry food to meat and meat products, directly to the families’ homes. Furthermore, zakat donations are delivered as cash aid over 12 months to the bank accounts of mothers of children battling leukemia and cancer, who have been identified as in need by social services specialists. In addition to all this support, completely free treatment is provided to children with leukemia and cancer at LÖSEV’s LÖSANTE Hospital.
Donations Reach Patients Directly
LÖSEV officials state that zakat and fitrah donations made during Ramadan are delivered directly to children undergoing leukemia and cancer treatment and their families. This year, the foundation aims to provide food and basic needs support to tens of thousands of patients across Turkey. Those wishing to obtain detailed information or make donations can contact the LÖSEV Foundation Center at 0312 447 06 60 or access details about the process via the website www.losev.org.tr.
