The 2023 part of the regional headman meetings organized by the Karabağlar Municipality in order to identify the problems of the neighborhoods and find solutions to them continues. Karabağlar Mayor Muhittin Selvitopu, vice presidents and principals met with the mukhtars of 18 neighborhoods in the second meeting.

In his speech at the opening of the meeting, President Selvitopu commemorated the citizens who lost their lives in earthquakes and floods with mercy. President Selvitopu expressed his condolences to his relatives and a speedy recovery to the injured, saying, “It is very important to be prepared for such disasters. As you know, the biggest center of AKUT in Turkey is in Karabağlar. As Karabağlar Municipality, we are doing our best in this regard. We carried out plan revisions of 2000 hectares of land. We try to be with the people who came to Karabağlar from the earthquake zone. On the one hand, we continue to support the disaster area. Finally, we are sending 2 containers to the Defne Municipality of Hatay to be used for educational purposes.”

Asphalt will gain speed

Noting that the maintenance of the asphalt pile belonging to the Karabağlar Municipality will be completed at the end of this month, Mayor Selvitopu said, “Right after that, our asphalting works will continue as quickly as last year. Our mukhtars can inform our Directorate of Science Affairs about the ways in need of priority. We plan accordingly,” he said.

Stating that the construction of Atatürk Youth and Sports Center is continuing rapidly, Mayor Selvitopu said, “Our goal is to complete it and put it into service at the end of this year. It will be an important center for Karabakh. There will be an indoor swimming pool, sections for indoor sports and a football field on the 32-decare area.

President Selvitopu said that they will completely renovate Yeşilyurt Pazaryeri and make it closed in the coming months, and that they have started preparations for the Yurtoğlu and Esendere marketplaces to be closed.

Stating that the Çalıkuşu Neighborhood Center will be completed next month, Mayor Selvitopu said, “The Çalıkuşu Neighborhood Center, which will serve our 4 neighborhoods, will be a big place just like our Barış Neighborhood Center. It will serve multiple purposes. We will continue to build similar centers as we find a place,” he said.

Mukhtars conveyed their demands

Later, the muhtars took the floor and conveyed the problems, demands and opinions of their neighborhoods. Karabağlar Municipality Council members Nurdan Şenkal Uçar, Ahmet Şafak, Okan Aras and Nedim Topaloğlu attended the second of the regional meetings.
