Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Kağıtspor’s national athlete, Gülsen, waved our Star and Crescent flag in Karate Serie A.

The national star of Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality Kağıtspor, Gülsen Demirtürk, waved our crescent and star flag at the Karate Series A Championship held in Konya, one of the most prestigious karate organizations in the world. Gülsen, the national athlete of Metropolitan Kağıtspor, who went on the tatami on behalf of the Turkish Karate National Team in the championship held on March 10-12 with the participation of 1073 athletes from 76 countries, reached the medal.

FIGHT WITH DIFFICULT COMPETITORS

Gülsen Demirtürk from Metropolitan Kağıtspor went on the tatami in the -55 kg Women’s Kumite branch. The successful athlete beat the Lithuanian 3-0 in the first round, the Belgian 4-2 in the second round, the Kazakh athlete 6-2 in the third round, and the Macedonian athlete 8-0 in the last round and reached the semi-finals. Losing 8-5 to Bosnia and Herzegovina in the semi-finals, Gülsen qualified for the third place match. In the match for the third place, our national athlete defeated the Kazakh opponent 7-6 and became the 3rd and won the bronze medal.
