The National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, April 23rd, was celebrated with enthusiasm through events organized by Kadıköy Municipality both in Kadıköy and Hatay. Mayor Odabaşı, who attended the celebrations in Kadıköy, said, “We will celebrate the holiday with children in four different locations, and we are all celebrating the holiday that our great leader entrusted to them together.”
As in every April 23rd, Kadıköy Municipality entertained the children with workshops, games, concerts, and competitions this year as well. To ensure that children enjoy the holiday given to them, Kadıköy Municipality prepared a full program. On April 23rd, Kadıköy Municipality organized various events for children throughout the day in Selamiçeşme Freedom Park, Sahrayıcedit 23 April Park, Fikirtepe Jandarma Er Çağlar Mengü Park, and Bostancı Train Station Square.

Many colorful, educational, and entertaining events made both children and families enjoy the day. Kadıköy Mayor Şerdil Dara Odabaşı also joined the events and spent time with the children.
Mayor Şerdil Dara Odabaşı said, “Today is the National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, and our great leader entrusted this holiday to the children so they can celebrate it with enthusiasm. In Kadıköy, we organized children’s events in four different locations, and we will celebrate the holiday with children in four separate places. We are all celebrating the holiday entrusted to them by our great leader together.”

Kadıköy Municipality surprises children from Hatay on April 23
Kadıköy Municipality did not forget the children affected by the earthquake in Hatay during the April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, which was gifted to the children by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. The municipality organized three days of games, workshops, and competitions for the children in Hatay to celebrate April 23 to the fullest. The municipality also collected thousands of toys from Kadıköylüs (residents of Kadıköy) prior to the day and brought them to Hatay to gift to children of all ages.

Some of the activities that Kadıköy Municipality organized for the earthquake-stricken children were a Recycling Workshop, Sensory and Attention Development Workshops, Rhythm Workshop for Children, soccer courses, sports competitions, and traditional street games.
