The fourth edition of the Rome Bar Show, an Italian event dedicated to the world of alcoholic beverages and mixology, was held this year. The event took place at the Palazzo dei Congressi in the EUR district, a venue designed by Adalberto Libera for the 1942 Universal Exhibition, and it drew significant attention once again.
In addition to showcasing well-known brands in the industry, the event also focused on introducing new ventures and recently launched products. Bartenders and brand representatives at the stands offered attendees tastings of their drinks, sharing information about the ingredients and preparation processes.
As someone interested in fruity cocktails and drinks, I was particularly drawn to the ETSU Japanese Gin and Angostura Bitters brands. The Japanese gin brand ETSU, which I chose with an orange flavor, offers a light, easy-to-drink experience with a hint of orange despite its 43% alcohol content. At the Angostura Bitters stand, I opted for a drink combining dry rum and blackberry aroma, which was also light and refreshing, ideal for summer.
Beyond the drink presentations, the event, held this year on May 13-14, featured talks by various invited names related to the bar industry and short educational sessions under the masterclass label. From my observations, the event attracts the interest of all age groups in Rome.
The Rome Bar Show also hosted competitions and award ceremonies in categories such as “Best Cocktail Bar” and “Most Creative Bartender.” The event describes itself as “a tribute to Italian hospitality, known worldwide for its consistently high and exceptional standards of service, quality, and innovation.”
Additionally, ticket sales for the Rome Bar Show 2025 have already begun. If it piques your interest, I recommend including it in your holiday plans.
