The Turkish Pharmaceutical Industry has become a member of the Pharmaceutical Industry Employers’ Union (IEIS), which has already continued its efforts to become a strong, independent, global pharmaceutical manufacturer and exporter.
Upon the invitation of the US Pharmacope Convention (USP), IEIS’s membership application was recently adopted. In this context, IEIS has become the representative of Turkey in USP with the Ministry of Health. Founded in 1820, the USP is working to secure the quality of drugs all over the world and stands out as a scientific organization that sets standards for medicine, food and food supplements. Drug standards defined by USP are put into force by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and these standards are used in more than 100 countries. The USP represents over 40 countries with 468 members. Among its members, the USP, which includes public and private sector organizations and academicians of many countries, especially in Europe, Asia, North America, Latin America, Middle East, North African countries, is working in cooperation with world -scale members to support protecting public health.
IEIS Secretary General Savaş Malkoç, who made a statement regarding the fact that the Pharmaceutical Industry Employers’ Union, which has 56 national and multinational members of the Turkish Pharmaceutical Industry and has 56 members of the Turkish Pharmaceutical Industry, said; “The benefits of the vision of localization to the development of our Turkish pharmaceutical industry and the economy of our country cannot be denied. As a Turkish pharmaceutical industry, we have signed important works with our production, which is in global standards, to protect community health and to develop our country’s economy. We are carrying out important works with the aim of increasing our R & D competence in the pharmaceutical industry and making our industry a global pharmaceutical manufacturer and exporter who produces higher value-added products, especially in the field of biotechnology. In this context, we find it very important that we become a member of the US Pharmacope Convention, an international organization. We have taken an important step of our new successes from local to global. We are very pleased with this step that will take the Turkish pharmaceutical industry further ”.
