Known in the community for his YouTube channel “Yılmaz Karaman Şan Atölyesi,” we discussed with Karaman things that are not widely known about him beyond social media.

Transitioning to Television

Known as a singing instructor with performance experience in theater and musicals, and having gained wider recognition through his YouTube channel, Yılmaz Karaman is set to make waves this year with a new project where he will venture into opera directing. Additionally, under the guidance of his newly signed manager, he will showcase his acting talents in upcoming television productions.

“I would love to act with Erdal Beşikçioğlu and Haluk Bilginer.”

Yılmaz Karaman, who referred to Haluk Bilginer as a “divine actor,” expressed his long-time admiration for Erdal Beşikçioğlu. He stated that appearing on screen with either of these two actors would make him very happy.

“I am interested in those who haven’t been introduced to art.”

Sharing his views on the audience for the arts in Turkey, Yılmaz Karaman said, “I have my own opera adaptations. For example, I would really like someone who has never watched an opera before to come and see it, and then ask them, ‘What do you think?’ I’m very curious to know if what we do on stage also resonates with that person.”
