In these days of scorching summer heat, water parks have become the destination for those seeking adrenaline, fun, or a way to cool off. Industry professionals have warned consumers to pay attention to the cleanliness, hygiene, and safety of water parks that host thousands of people.
With the arrival of the summer months, the water park season has begun. Those fleeing the oppressive summer heat have found refuge in water parks. Erhan Gül, the Manager of Sakarya Aquapark, one of the largest water parks in the Eastern Marmara region and a popular spot for Istanbul residents due to its location, emphasized the necessity of regular maintenance for cleanliness and hygiene in water parks, noting that without it, various illnesses could arise.
Erhan Gül, Manager of Sakarya Aquapark, stressed their extra sensitivity towards hygiene, saying, “Facilities with unclean pool waters and security vulnerabilities cannot provide a pleasant and safe holiday experience. Improperly cleaned pools carry the risk of many infections, including upper respiratory, digestive, stomach and intestinal, urinary tract, eye, ear, and skin infections. Those considering visiting water parks should choose well-known establishments in their region that are inspected by relevant authorities and have hygiene analysis reports.”
“We work around the clock for hygiene.”
Erhan Gül, Manager of Sakarya Aquapark, provided details about the periodic maintenance: “As the hottest times of the summer arrive, the interest in our water park is increasing every day. Our priority is to ensure that our guests who visit the park for both adrenaline and entertainment can have a healthy and safe experience. Our work hours continue uninterrupted to ensure our guests have a healthy and enjoyable day. Especially, the most frequently used slides and pools are inspected every day after the facility is closed and before it opens in the morning. Periodic maintenance is crucial for the safety and functionality of the facility. Our purification system works at a capacity to completely purify all our pools every hour. Of course, we also monitor every issue related to general safety within the facility.”

“We offer separate swimming areas for adults, babies, and young people.”
Erhan Gül, Manager of Sakarya Aquapark, noted that they receive significant interest from nearby cities such as Istanbul, Kocaeli, İzmit, Sakarya, and Bursa, and concluded, “Due to our location, Sakarya Aquapark has the opportunity to host guests from different cities. We have made it a principle to offer our guests the best and most modern systems. We closely follow our counterparts around the world. We utilize technology and prevent collisions and injuries with screens at the beginning of our slides. There is an attendant at the start of each slide who provides necessary instructions and general safety rules to each incoming guest. Throughout the day, based on our inspections, we take precautions against issues that could pose risks to our guests’ health. Our park has 13 different water slides. We provide swimming areas tailored to different segments, from babies to adults. We have separate areas for families and separate areas for young people who want to have fun with their friends.”
