Halkbank will be the lifeline for women producers in the earthquake zone
With the support package, Halkbank General Manager Osman Arslan compensated for the losses suffered by women who are small and medium-sized business owners, who play the most important role in the development of the region; He told them that they would be lifeblood.
Reminding that Halkbank reached more than 172 thousand women entrepreneurs across Turkey with the Women Entrepreneur Loan Support Package, and contributed to the strong presence of women in the business world with a total support of more than 30 billion TL, Arslan continued his speech as follows.
“Our 13.5 million people living in the region were deeply affected by this great disaster, but unfortunately, women experience the greatest trauma in such disasters. While our women are trying to cope with basic problems such as shelter and security, they are selflessly trying to meet the basic needs of both themselves and their children.
We found that there are a total of 143 women’s cooperatives in the provinces and districts affected by the earthquake. Again, we held talks with 70 cooperatives in the region. The information we received shows that our women’s cooperatives do not want to leave the region in which they operate. Our cooperatives, which do not want to lose the local value they produce and offer, want to normalize as soon as possible. As Halkbank; It is our corporate responsibility to stand by our women who produce, add value and constitute the most dynamic part of the country’s economy. For this reason, we are implementing the Women’s Cooperatives Support Loan and the KGF Guaranteed Women Entrepreneur Support Loan in the earthquake zone.”
