Known for her work in the arts, as well as her career as a journalist and painter, Günsu Saraçoğlu will present her solo exhibition, “ReBirth, Balance ‘YOU’ Are!”, to art enthusiasts at Gallery Duende on Saturday, November 30, 2024.

Recognized for her contributions to social responsibility projects, Saraçoğlu, along with Gallery Duende’s founder and the exhibition’s curator, Emine Özkarslıoğlu, announced their joint decision to allocate a portion of the exhibition’s proceeds to support the education of hearing-impaired children through the Children’s Education Association.

Since 2013, Günsu Saraçoğlu has expressed her thoughts on topics such as urban transformation, nature, climate, and environmental destruction through her paintings. Her “ReBirth” collection, which was showcased at numerous international environmental conferences last year and simultaneously exhibited in Istanbul and the USA, will once again meet art enthusiasts with the addition of “Balance ‘YOU’ Are!”. The exhibition features works created using digital art, acrylic, and mixed techniques.

Saraçoğlu shared her thoughts on her “ReBirth, Balance ‘YOU’ Are!” collection:

“For years, I have tried to express my thoughts on urban transformation, climate change, and environmental issues through my paintings. My goal has been to create a memory that reflects the era I live in and contribute to social awareness. During this process, I created the ‘ReBirth’ series. In this series, I explored the cycles of nature and humanity’s impact on these cycles.

Nature moves in a constant cycle, and this cycle is a complex structure in which every living being is an indispensable part. However, humanity’s destruction of nature seriously threatens this balance. With the new ‘ReBirth’ series, I tell the audience: ‘Balance, YOU are!’ In my paintings, I reflect the conflict between humanity’s desire to control and the balance of nature from the past to the present.

We must be aware of the damage we have caused to the natural cycle. Though the transformation may seem complete in appearance, we are experiencing a real break in the chain.

Today, it is time to face the consequences of the chaos we live in. We must learn from past mistakes and rebuild our connection with nature. The dream of a livable world cannot be achieved with individual efforts alone; we must turn our awareness into action. Every individual is a fundamental part of this balance, and small steps can lead to big changes. Shaping the future is in our hands; balance lies in our determination. We must all take on the responsibility of preserving nature’s cycle and balance, and we must progress together in this struggle. Rebuilding our bond with nature is essential, not only for ourselves but for future generations. Balance, YOU are!”

The “ReBirth, Balance ‘YOU’ Are!” solo exhibition by artist Günsu Saraçoğlu, curated by Emine Özkarslıoğlu, will be on display at Gallery Duende until December 15, 2024.
